Experience the awesome beauty of the pristine Sonoran Desert with your cowboy guide via four-wheel-drive vehicles. The desert holds so much more than what meets the eye. Learn some of the secrets of the desert inhabitants, as your guide demonstrates how the cavalry and the Native Americans used the abundant desert plants to survive. Don’t forget your camera. You’ll witness some of the best panoramic views that Arizona has to offer.

Enjoy the amazing Arizona landscape on horseback. You will step back in time in the Gila River Indian Community while watching the sunset over the historic Estrella Mountains. Steep mountain walls stand off in the distance against the desert sky, offering a watercolor backdrop to this awesome setting. This is a journey through one of the scenic jewels of the Southwest desert.

As you wind your way through the reservation, your professional wrangler will explain the history of the Sonoran Desert, the landscape and the wildlife. You may even catch a glimpse of the wild mustangs roaming the reservation. So saddle up and get back to the real “Old West.”

Event duration: An approximately one-and-a-half-hour horseback ride and a 15-minute transfer from the resort.

Remember when ceramics were all the rage? It has come back but with a more practical twist. The ceramic pieces are already complete; you just need to select your piece and paint it. We do the rest.

You will be transferred to one of the wonderful pottery studios in Chandler. Upon arrival, the studio host will greet you and explain the studio’s background. You will be able to browse the studio and select a ceramic piece to paint. After you finish your piece, it will be put into the kiln. Your piece will be ready in two to three days and will be shipped directly to the address you provide.

What goes up must come down, but they never said how you had to descend. We like to do it the adventurous way, by rappelling — an exciting way of getting down sheer cliff faces using a rope.

Our rappelling event is one of the most thrilling ways you can spend a few hours. After a safety briefing, you will be harnessed in and ready for the rocks. You will select from a series of rappels. Whether you’re timid or ready to be a SWAT team candidate, we’ll have a descent for you.

Attire: Athletic shoes are mandatory. A hat, sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended.

Event duration: Approximately five hours (includes transportation to and from the resort).

The event starts with a brief history lesson on tequila and how the blue agave is cultivated and harvested, presented by an expert straight from the home of Partida Tequila in Guadalajara, Mexico. You will have an opportunity to sample three different varieties: blanco, reposado and anejo. The tequila specialist will guide you through the tasting, describing the process by which the tequila is made as well as the tastes of each variety. 

As you learn about tequila, the resort’s award-winning culinary team will provide a salsa- and guacamole-making demonstration. In addition to traditional salsa and guacamole, the team will provide tips and twists on how to elevate them into something a little more unique. While sampling the salsa and guacamole, you will be able to create the perfect margarita at the stations around the room. A variety of flavors will be available, including agave nectar, prickly pear and pomegranate. Attendees will receive recipes and instructions to take home to impress their guests.

Event duration: Approximately two hours. The event will be held at the resort.

Featuring pristine, uncluttered views of the Sierra Estrella Mountains, the course showcases the beauty of the natural terrain. Devil’s Claw was created to reflect the land while the waters still flowed on the reservation by combining the Gila River landscape, including cottonwood, mesquite, saguaro and palo verde trees among native grasses and rolling terrain. This challenging golf course also features gradual elevation changes and great bunker designs with multitiered greens.

Experian^® will provide complimentary beverages on the course. You can look forward to having one Experian host for each foursome. Prizes will be awarded for the top foursome, the closest to the pin and the longest drive.

Attire: Collared shirts required. No denim or cutoff pants or shorts. Shorts cannot be higher than 2 inches above the knee.
